Brian has been a sports fan since he could throw a baseball. Born and raised in the Bay Area, he moved to Los Angeles to attend the Marshall School of Business at University of Southern California.
Brian's strong creative streak eventually led him to study photography as a hobby, while he worked as a producer in digital media. Through workshops, dedication to the craft and practice at sporting events he attended as a spectator, he soon turned his hobby into a career, thus combining two passions. He quickly discovered that his interest and insight in sports as a spectator and a player allowed him the unique ability to predict much of the action before it occurs, therefore his camera is positioned in the right place at the right time. Being an avid sports fan, his knowledge of the players runs deep--from high school standouts to rookies to veterans.
With 10 years of experience under his belt, he's spent the last three years as a freelancer with the wire service Icon Sportswire, which supplies photos for the Associated Press and Getty Images. He regularly photographs all major sporting events including MLB, NHL, NFL, and NCAA football and basketball.
His images have been published in Sports Illustrated, ESPN the Magazine, US Weekly, SLAM Magazine and Golf Magazine, among other print and online publications. His photographs have also been featured on television such as "SportsCenter," "E-60" and live sporting events. His photos were featured on covers of the Athlon and Lindy college football and basketball preview magazines and are regularly used on Topps and Panini sports trading cards, including on over 50 cards in 2018 alone.
His work has been highlighted by ESPN, Golf Channel and MSN as photos of the day. He has also won Photo of the Workshop from the Sports Shooter Academy in 2017.
Brian lives in Irvine with his wife Andrea and dog Bailey.
