Last week I attended The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Light the Night Walk at Petco Park in San Diego. While I was attending to support my friend's four year old, who recently was diagnosed with cancer, I also got to snap a few shots.
There was very little light in the area where people congregated for the walk. My ISO was as high as possible and I was shooting at 2.8, with spot metering and even then, my shutter speed most of the time wasn't high enough. Using a flash was way too harsh.
What I was able to use to my advantage was the lights the walk provided to the participants. See above a couple of my favorite shots, including one of my friend's kid using his light to light his face and keep his parents dark in the backgrounds.
